Little Keys policies

Customer terms

MindSync Technologies Pty Ltd · Effective date:

1. Who provides Little Keys

Little Keys is operated by MindSync Technologies Pty Ltd, ABN 39 696 882 318, ACN 696 882 318. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean that company. Our business contact address is Suite 19, 220 Carr Place, Leederville WA 6007, Australia. For customer support, email admin@thelittlekeys.com. This offer is for families in Australia and the United States.

These terms describe your use of Little Keys. When a payment is sold through Stripe Managed Payments, Link is shown as the merchant of record at checkout and on the transaction documents. The payment terms displayed there apply to that transaction. We remain your contact for the Little Keys service, learning content and product support. Nothing here removes rights you have against us or the payment merchant under applicable law.

2. Adult accounts and children

The adult who establishes a family account must be at least 18 and a parent or legal guardian authorised to arrange the participating children's use of Little Keys. Other adult caregivers may join that family by invitation with the necessary parent or guardian permission. Free and paid online family accounts are offered in Australia and the United States at launch. The course is designed primarily for children aged 6–9 with adult support. Children use profiles managed by adults; they do not need their own parent login or payment account. A parent or legal guardian must provide any parental permission required for a child's information and use of cloud features. Being an invited caregiver does not, by itself, make someone a legal guardian or authorise them to give that permission. Paid setup uses the parent’s own adult account and qualifying subscription transaction before each child profile is added with separate explicit privacy permission. A payment or acceptance of these service terms alone does not authorise child-data collection, imports or caregiver disclosure. If an existing subscriber needs fresh payment-linked verification, they may submit the parent notice and permission request before their next ordinary renewal. We do not require a duplicate subscription or an extra verification charge; the requested covered cloud saving waits until the matching renewal payment and permission are verified.

Where offered, email verification is available for cloud profiles and optional device-progress import without a subscription. It requires the parent’s permission choices, confirmation of a link sent to their account email, and delivery of a later confirmation notice. It does not authorise caregiver sharing or provide paid-course access. Caregiver sharing requires separate permission and the disclosed payment-linked verification.

The family owner controls the subscription and invitations to caregivers. One family may support its children across different homes, including separated parents' homes, with the necessary parent or guardian permission. Invited caregivers help that family; the plan is not a shared subscription for unrelated families or a school, class or teaching business. Each invited caregiver should use their own sign-in. Keep adult sign-in links and credentials private, use appropriate supervision on shared devices, and contact us if you suspect unauthorised access or an invitation that should be withdrawn. A child-facing grown-up check is not a substitute for protecting an adult account.

3. What is included

You can try the three free introductory activities without signing in. Free Starter also includes open keyboard play. A registered free family account provides free learning access for up to two children in one family; cloud saving and caregiver sharing are subject to the applicable parental notice and consent process. Profiles and progress retained from an earlier paid allowance remain subject to the retention and deletion policy; keeping those records does not provide access above the applicable allowance. Trying the free activities does not automatically create a paid subscription.

Little Keys Family includes the released first-month course: 20 flexible guided visits, eight introductory skills, all nine starter steps and their released songs, with separate progress for two children in the base monthly plan and invited caregiver access. You can purchase capacity for extra children in the same family, up to eight children in total, as explained below. Adult caregiver invitations do not themselves add a child to the paid allowance. You may repeat the released activities while your paid access continues. A visit is not a calendar deadline, and completing twenty visits does not automatically end your subscription.

For the new monthly offer, each paid learner place is assigned to a specific child and their profile. You may request a permanent replacement when a different child will take over that place. A permanent replacement within your existing paid allowance does not itself add an extra-child charge. The change must identify the child giving up paid access, the child receiving the place and when it takes effect. Their learning records remain separate: the new child does not inherit the previous child's badges or progress. The previous child’s profile is archived for read-only history, with viewing, export and deletion available under the privacy controls. It does not receive new practice while archived. These saved records remain subject to the privacy and retention policy. If that child returns, the parent must explicitly re-enrol them in an available paid place or make a genuine permanent replacement. Returning does not itself buy an extra place or approve a charge; a separately confirmed increase is needed only if the chosen paid allowance increases.

Places may not be rotated between different children to share one paid place. Each child using paid content at the same time needs their own place. Correcting a nickname for the same child does not change the learner or transfer their progress.

Your purchase is for access to the course and features described when you subscribe. Further adventures may be introduced, but this offer does not set a release date or promise a particular volume of new content. Check the current course description when deciding whether to subscribe or renew. The subscription does not include individual tuition or a formal qualification. Any separately charged offering will be described before you choose it.

4. Equipment and learning expectations

You need a compatible browser and device. Online access is needed for account, payment and cloud-saving functions. Check the free steps on your intended device before subscribing. The on-screen keyboard supports introductory exploration; physical piano practice needs a suitable instrument. USB/MIDI and microphone input depend on the device, browser, permissions and equipment. Contact us before purchase if a particular setup is essential to you.

Visits, progress indicators and badges describe recorded activity and demonstrations within the course. Screen taps, microphone estimates and parent observations have limits; they do not certify physical technique or a particular learning outcome. Children learn at different speeds. These explanations do not reduce our obligation to provide the service as described or any consumer guarantee that applies.

5. Monthly price and renewal

The new Little Keys Family monthly plan costs US$14.99 per month for two children, plus US$5 per month for each extra child, up to eight children in total. These US-dollar base prices include applicable tax:

Paid child allowance Monthly base price
2 children US$14.99
3 children US$19.99
4 children US$24.99
5 children US$29.99
6 children US$34.99
7 children US$39.99
8 children US$44.99

Checkout may offer a local-currency equivalent and shows the final currency, total, child allowance, billing period and renewal information before payment. No additional Little Keys charge is made without disclosure and your agreement. Your bank or payment provider may apply its own currency-conversion or other fees under your agreement with it.

There is no new annual purchase option in this offer. An existing annual subscriber keeps the agreed annual price, billing period and four-child allowance under the terms they accepted. These terms do not move that subscriber onto the new monthly plan, reduce their allowance or authorise extra-child charges. Other existing subscriptions are not silently changed by these terms; their agreed offer and any separately agreed changes continue to matter.

By affirmatively confirming the priced subscription offer at checkout, you authorise the first monthly payment and recurring monthly payments for your chosen child allowance until cancellation or an agreed change. Your billing account and payment records show your renewal date. This is an ongoing monthly subscription, not a one-off purchase of a month of content. There is no minimum commitment beyond the paid monthly period and no cancellation fee.

Inactivity does not cancel or pause your subscription. Monthly renewal continues even if your family does not use Little Keys. The paying family owner is responsible for cancelling renewal when they no longer want the subscription. The inactive-free-account deletion process does not apply while paid access continues, and inactivity alone does not start that deletion clock or remove saved learning progress from a subscribed family.

Increasing the child allowance: before you confirm, we show the extra children, any prorated amount due for the remainder of the current billing period, the currency and total due now, and the new recurring amount and next renewal date. The paying family owner must explicitly confirm that priced change. The increased paid allowance begins only after the required payment successfully settles; a pending or failed payment does not activate it. Creating, inviting or selecting a profile alone does not approve an extra charge.

Reducing the child allowance: the reduction takes effect at the next renewal, with the lower amount and effective date shown before confirmation. Your existing allowance continues for the period already paid for. An ordinary reduction does not create a voluntary refund or credit for that period and does not delete any child's saved progress. The account must explain which profiles retain paid access within the reduced allowance; preserving records does not itself grant paid access beyond that allowance. Any mandatory refund or other remedy remains available.

You may stop renewal of an individual extra-child place while keeping the base family subscription. Its charge and paid access end at the confirmed renewal boundary under the rule above. The two included places are part of the base price; using only one does not reduce that price. A permanent replacement is separate from cancelling an extra place and must not silently undo a cancellation already scheduled for that place.

If a payment fails, access may be restricted according to the status shown in your account. You can review payment details through Manage billing. We do not erase learning history merely because a subscription payment fails or renewal is cancelled.

6. Cancelling renewal

The paying family owner can cancel through Parent account → Plan & billing → Manage billing. Cancel before the next payment is due to stop that renewal. Keep the cancellation confirmation. If the portal is unavailable or you cannot access it, send a clear cancellation request to admin@thelittlekeys.com before that payment is due. We use the time the request reaches us when assessing a charge that should have been stopped; our time spent handling the request does not make a timely cancellation late. The support and billing inbox is monitored daily.

Ordinary cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period: you can continue using paid features and the paid child allowance until then, after which the two-child Free Starter option remains available. Cancellation itself does not erase the progress of profiles above the free allowance. Cancelling does not itself request a refund. Signing out, stopping practice, reducing the number of profiles in use or removing a bookmark does not cancel a subscription.

Cancelling renewal is separate from deleting your family. The family deletion process stops billing before removing the relevant learning records. Follow its confirmation steps; a temporary provider failure can leave deletion pending. Deleting an invited caregiver's adult account removes that adult's access and does not itself cancel the family owner's subscription. An owner must transfer ownership or complete family deletion before deleting their own adult account. Contact us if you need help completing the appropriate process.

7. Refunds and consumer rights

We do not offer additional voluntary refunds or credits simply because you change your mind, stop using Little Keys or choose to cancel or reduce your child allowance partway through a paid period. This also applies to an otherwise correctly charged renewal or explicitly approved prorated addition. This preference is subject to mandatory law and any refund rights or decisions under the applicable Link/Stripe Managed Payments policy. The companion cancellation and refund policy explains requests involving service problems, billing errors and those rights.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies a consumer guarantee, remedy or other right that cannot lawfully be excluded. Rights under the Australian Consumer Law apply independently of our change-of-mind policy. Applicable United States federal and state consumer rights are also preserved. The merchant's additional refund process does not impose a shorter deadline on statutory rights.

8. Permitted use and content

You may use the service and its content for the personal learning activities of your family during the access period. Do not resell accounts, redistribute course materials, misuse another family's data, bypass access controls or intentionally disrupt the service. This does not restrict rights or exceptions provided by law.

We and our licensors retain rights in the course, illustrations, recordings and software. You retain any rights you have in your original compositions and other material you provide. You permit us to process that material as needed to provide, save and recover your family's use of the service; this is not a transfer of ownership or permission to use your child's work in advertising.

9. Privacy and account records

Use a child's nickname where possible and avoid adding unnecessary personal information. A parent or legal guardian controls the required permission for cloud collection and caregiver access. The family owner can manage profiles, request an export and use the account's deletion tools. We do not use these terms to authorise child-targeted advertising, sale or rental of children's information, AI training with children's information, or public child profiles. Raw microphone audio and transcripts remain on the device rather than being uploaded as lesson records.

Cancelling renewal or reducing the paid child allowance does not itself delete saved progress. Saved progress is retained for subscribed families to support continuing access, subject to valid permission, deletion rights and review of what information is still necessary. Automatic inactivity deletion of free-family profiles is not yet active; activation requires working warning delivery and deletion safeguards. Once activated, a free family's twelve-calendar-month period starts from the later of its last deliberate use, the end of its paid access, or its initial retention baseline. A new family starts with its creation date; an existing family without reliable tracked history receives a fresh rollout baseline rather than a backdated deadline. Background sign-in refreshes, polling and automatic sync do not count as deliberate use. Deletion cannot occur until at least thirty days after confirmed delivery of a warning to the adult contact, with an opportunity to return or request an export. This process does not cancel subscriptions and does not apply while paid access continues or a subscription remains open or unresolved. See the parent privacy notice for record categories, backup handling and lawful exceptions. These service terms do not authorise indefinite retention of every lesson event or payment-related record.

Information needed for lawful financial, security or record-keeping purposes may need separate handling after account deletion. Necessary billing records do not require keeping the child's detailed learning history. Account deletion and withdrawal of child-data permission must be handled under the applicable rights and privacy process, not delayed until the inactivity period expires.

We use the adult contact details for account, payment, security and service communications. Accepting these terms does not enrol your family in marketing emails. Ask us about personal information at admin@thelittlekeys.com. These customer terms are not a privacy notice and do not authorise additional collection, advertising or use of children's information.

10. Service changes and availability

We may make maintenance, security and usability improvements. We will take reasonable care to maintain the described service and communicate material interruptions or changes. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, but this does not remove responsibility for failures for which the law provides a remedy.

We will give at least 30 days' notice by email before a planned price increase or a material adverse change to these terms takes effect for an existing subscriber. We will also provide any further notices, at the times required, and obtain any agreement required by applicable law or payment terms. Silence is not treated as consent where affirmative agreement is required. A price increase applies only to a future billing period, not a period already paid for. You can cancel future renewal without a fee. A material reduction in a service already paid for will be handled with the customer's agreement or an appropriate remedy, including a refund where required. Necessary urgent security or legal changes may require shorter notice; we will explain them as soon as reasonably possible. Such urgency does not authorise a retroactive charge or removal of mandatory rights.

11. Restriction or closure

We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to address fraud, unauthorised access, harmful misuse or a material breach of these terms. Where practical, we will explain the reason and give you a reasonable opportunity to resolve it. Restrictions will be proportionate to the issue. Contact support if you believe a restriction is mistaken.

If we permanently discontinue the service or end your paid access for a reason other than your material breach, we will stop future charges and refund the unused prepaid service. Your other rights under law are preserved. We will offer a reasonable opportunity to export records where lawful and practical.

12. Responsibility and disputes

We do not use these terms to exclude liability for our fraud, negligence or obligations that cannot lawfully be excluded. Each party remains responsible under applicable law for its actions and obligations. There is no requirement here to give up statutory remedies, accept compulsory arbitration or pay a penalty for raising a complaint.

Contact support with the account email, a description of the issue and any relevant payment reference. We will review complaints within a reasonable time and explain the outcome. You may also contact a consumer protection agency or pursue a remedy through a court or tribunal.

Western Australian law governs these terms, subject to mandatory protections that apply to you elsewhere. Courts and tribunals with lawful jurisdiction may hear a dispute; this clause does not remove a right to bring a claim where you are entitled to do so.

13. Document changes

The version made available when you agree to the service applies, subject to the notice and change process above. We will date future versions and keep a record of material changes. An invalid provision does not affect the rest of the terms where they can fairly continue without it.
